Animal enclosure

Animal enclosure for sheep and other grazing animals

When you have grazing animals, you sometimes need to separate them, and a small enclosure is the perfect solution. Our animal enclosure is particularly suitable for sheep but can also be used for other animals, depending on how many fence units you have. The enclosed rings make it easy to set up the enclosure quickly, and you do not need any tools to assemble the sections. The enclosure – called folding, sheepfold or sheepcote – is made of sturdy hot-dip galvanised steel. Modern shepherds commonly use terms such as closing or confinement pen for small sheep pens. It is straightforward to extend the enclosure by ordering more fence units.

A flexible animal enclosure for modern sheep farming

Many lambs and sheep are raised outdoors in pastures, while some remain indoors. Like other farmed animals, sheep are often kept in barns, and the number of animals per shed varies by facility. Shelter is essential during “lambing,” when ewes are giving birth and nursing. An adult female sheep is called an ewe. An adult male sheep is called a ram. A sheep less than one year of age is called a lamb. During the year, you sometimes need to separate the animals, and an enclosure is an easy solution. Another time an animal enclosure is suitable is when the sheep needs shearing. Put the enclosure together in the pasture or outside the barn and have a good spot for the shearer to work.

Livestock shelters for sheep and other grazing animals

Another solution when you need to fence, separate or shelter your grazing animals is our livestock shelters. You can set up sturdy shelters more or less anywhere - in the pasture, a field or closer to the farm or barn. The various structures are made to be used all year and will provide shelter for your animals so they are protected against too much sun, rain and snow. Unlike the open animal enclosure, you can use the sturdy livestock shelters to store hay, fodder, materials, and machinery. When you have grazing animals in the open, offering them shelter is essential. Many animals are used to being outside all year but must have a place to seek shelter. You can use the open animal enclosure in combination with a livestock shelter when you need to separate the animals.
